This series of six shots were some of the most difficult shots to take. I wanted to capture the essence of cruising on the open highway. You can
not get the windblown look from a posed shot. So I had to stand on the side of the interstate and tried to take my shots as the bikers passed by. My depth of field had to be
set as wide as I could so I could try and capture the entire width of the highway, yet the shutter speed had to be as fast as possible to capture the bikes cruising past at
65+ MPH. Now try to trip the shutter when the bikes where in the frame, and you begin to see why these shots where so difficult.
The best I could achieve was a few nice "pictures" but no "photographs". Maybe I will be able to figure it out by next years rally. I must have taken about
500 shots. To get these few pictures, I concider myself lucky. |
