This shot #1 of 4 "pictures" of the fireworks at the central states fairgrounds in Rapid City SD. Although these 4 shots are initially pleasing to the eye They all possess some serious flaws. The depth of field is very narrow and the exposure is excessively long.

Fireworks pictures are typically best if the exposure is short so the background is black for the highest contrast. When I went to take my first shot I dicovered, to my display, that my cable release would not trip on every shot. So I was forced to take longer shots to make sure I got something. The next day I repaired my cable release but I could do nothing to save these shots.
